SunSirs: Cement Prices in East China have slightly declined
August 10 2023 13:47:03SunSirs(Selena)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, cement in East China has recently experienced a weak decline. The price on August 1st was 331.00 RMB/ton, and on August 9th it was 325.00 RMB/ton, a decrease of 1.81% and a month on month decrease of 4.41%. The current price has decreased by 15.80% compared to last year.

Recently, cement prices have declined in some parts of East China. From the above chart, it can be seen that the cement market has been mainly declining in the past three months, and prices have continued to bottom out this week. Around August 1st, cement prices in Yangzhou, Nantong, Taizhou, and Suzhou Wuxi Changzhou in Jiangsu Province decreased by 10-15 RMB/ton. Currently, due to the continued weak market demand, the cement market in East China continues to decline slightly. But apart from East China, some regions such as Southwest and Central South have started to increase their cement prices, and the cement market in East China is already at a low level and is expected to rebound.

Recently, the price of steam coal has fluctuated and consolidated. The coal mines in the production area maintain normal production, while state-owned large mines actively guarantee supply, and the overall supply is relatively stable. Due to the recent average overall transaction volume, some coal mines have lowered their prices to stimulate transportation. Recently, the trading volume in the port market has been limited, and the overall market sentiment is wait-and-see, with average trading volume. With the hot weather and the arrival of peak summer, the daily consumption of the power plant has accelerated. However, due to the recent impact of typhoons, the increase in daily consumption is limited, and the overall inventory is still in a high state due to the prolonged supply of coal. Traders are cautious and cautious, and although they are actively shipping, inquiries are still relatively low.

Downstream funding issues are still ongoing, and demand recovery is poor. Specifically, the marginal investment in real estate has weakened again and is still bottoming out in the short term, with weak support for the cement market.

According to the prediction of SunSirs, the peak season is coming soon, and the cement market has reached a bottom, with some regions experiencing tentative increases. Therefore, cement product analysts of SunSirs believe that in the short term, the cement market will mainly experience a slight upward trend.
