SunSirs: China Wood Pulp Price slightly Increased, Short-term will be Fluctuated

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the spot price of wood pulp was in a slight upward trend last week, with the price increase of about 50-100 RMB/ ton. On October 23, the average price of softwood pulp in Shandong was 4,707.5 RMB/ ton, which was increased 50 RMB/ ton or 1.07% compared with the average price of 4,657.5 RMB/ ton on October 18 in Shandong. However, the average price of hardwood pulp in Shandong on October 23 was 3,637.5 RMB/ ton, which was increased 25 RMB/ ton or 0.69% compared with the average price of 3,612.5 RMB/ ton on October 18.

According to the observation of market changes, the spot price of wood pulp slightly increased last week. At the beginning of the week, with the upward trend of pulp futures price, the wood pulp price also went up, but at the end of the week, the futures price fell again, which made the short-term wood pulp price likely to follow. However, in recent days, the white card market in the downstream of wood pulp has been running at a high level, and the price increase letters of coated paper and cultural paper have been issued continuously. Considering the recovery of downstream demand, this was also a factor of wood pulp price rise last week.

At present, the market has entered the traditional consumption peak season, the market demand has been continuously released, and the market vitality has been significantly improved. With the arrival of the fourth quarter, the release of demand is accelerating to make up for the losses caused by the epidemic in the first half of the year. The reference quotation range of softwood pulp of Yinxing is about 4,700 RMB/ ton and 3,650-3,700 RMB/ ton for hardwood pulp.

In terms of futures, on October 23, the opening price of SP2012 main contract of Shanghai Futures Exchange was 4,608 RMB/ ton, and settlement price of the previous day was 4,654 RMB/ ton, with 61,057 transactions and 120,515 positions.
