SunSirs: The Price of CPL Fluctuated and Increased in February

Price trend

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the reference average price of domestic CPL on February 1st was 13,735 RMB/ton, and on February 29th, the reference average price of domestic CPL was 13,900 RMB/ton. This month, the market price of domestic CPL had increased by 1.20%.

Analysis review

The domestic price of CPL fluctuated and increased this month. The price of raw material pure benzene had increased this month, leading to increased cost support. Driven by raw materials, the market trend of CPL was on the rise. Before the holiday, some CPL enterprises reduced their load operation, resulting in a decrease in market supply. Downstream replenishment was mainly based on demand, and the market transaction atmosphere was good. At the end of the month, the pure benzene market fell, and the price of CPL slightly decreased. Sinopec's premium liquid CPL settled at a price of 14,500 RMB/ton last week.

Raw material pure benzene market: The domestic price of pure benzene had increased this month, and since the beginning of the month, the price of pure benzene had been continuously rising. At the end of the month, the price had slightly declined. On February 1st, the price was 7,967 RMB/ton, and on February 29th, it was 8,478 RMB/ton, an increase of 6.41% from the beginning of the month. This month, Sinopec's pure benzene price was 8,550 RMB/ton.

Downstream PA6 market: This month, the domestic PA6 market had strengthened, with some spot prices rising. As of February 29th, the domestic reference price for PA6 was 15,200 RMB/ton, an increase of 2.88% compared to the beginning of the month.

Market outlook

According to CPL analysts from SunSirs, the recent decline in raw material pure benzene prices hasd weakened cost support. Downstream demand was stable, and a cautious mindset was increasing. It is expected that the market price of CPL will be weaker in the short term, and consolidation will be the main trend.
