According to the Development and Reform Commission of Hulunbuir City, in 2023, the city's raw coal production reached 109 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.9%; Accumulated sales of raw coal reached 108.6963 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.

In 2023, coal production enterprises in Hulunbuir City signed a medium and long-term contract for 88.0474 million tons of electric coal, of which 81.1674 million tons (including central enterprises) were signed with power generation enterprises, and 6.88 million tons of coal were used for people's heating and heating for farmers and herdsmen. The supply task of medium and long-term contracts for electric coal was successfully completed.

At the same time, the city has simultaneously improved its ability to release and regulate coal production capacity, as well as its emergency supply capacity. The city has produced 1.31 million tons of coal reserves in coal mines, a year-on-year increase of 28.3%.

In terms of coal power project construction, the Yakeshi Huiliu River 3.5+5 million kilowatt thermal power project has completed a cumulative investment of 1.522 billion RMB and has now been put into operation; The expansion project of Manzhouli Thermal Power Plant has started construction of two 350,000 kilowatt cogeneration coal-fired power integrated projects.

At the same time, we have also accelerated the construction of the power grid, with a focus on implementing projects such as the Manzhouli 500 kV substation 220 kV transmission project, the Yakeshi Huiliuhe power plant 220 kV transmission project, and the Lingdong 1 million kilowatt base project supporting power grid transmission project. As of the end of 2023, a total investment of 789 million RMB has been completed in the power sector. In 2023, the cumulative power generation of Hulunbuir City was 41.535 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 2.43%.

In terms of new energy projects, the first batch of national large base Huaneng Mengdong Yimu DC transmission Lingdong 1 million kilowatt wind power project (including four sub projects) has been fully completed. The two 1.6 million kilowatt wind power base projects in Arong Banner and Molidawa Daur Autonomous Banner have been included in the third batch of major base projects issued by the National Energy Administration, and the 1 million kilowatt wind storage project in Mengneng Zhalantun has been included in the autonomous region's 2023 guaranteed grid connected new energy project list; Hubao New Energy Co., Ltd. has completed the construction of 74,500 kilowatts of self use photovoltaic projects, 88,300 kilowatts of plant electricity for Huaneng Yimin Power Plant, and 70,000 kilowatts of new energy substitution projects for mining electricity. In 2023, a total investment of 774 million RMB has been completed.
