On January 1st, the average market price of domestic chlorinated paraffin 52 was 5,433 RMB/ton. On January 29th, the average market price of domestic chlorinated paraffin 52 was 5,566 RMB/ton. This month, the price of chlorinated paraffin had increased by 2.49%.

Analysis review

In January, domestic chlorinated paraffin prices fluctuated and rose, but then stabilized. In the first half of January, the price of chlorinated paraffin increased. The prices of raw material liquid wax and liquid chlorine had increased, leading to increased cost support. Downstream procurement was on-demand, chlorinated paraffin manufacturers maintained stable shipments, and some enterprises increased prices with raw materials. In the second half of January, the price of chlorinated paraffin remained stable. The price of raw material liquid wax fluctuated, and the price of raw material liquid chlorine had decreased, with average cost support. Downstream procurement was on-demand, market trading was limited, and manufacturers and distributors mainly stabilized prices. As of January 29th, the ex factory price of 52 environmentally friendly chlorinated paraffin in Anhui Province was around 5,800 RMB/ton, and the national standard market price of 52 chlorinated paraffin in Shandong Province was around 5,400-5,900 RMB/ton.

According to the weekly ups and downs from October 30, 2023 to January 22, 2024, it can be seen that the domestic chlorinated paraffin cycle saw mixed ups and downs. There was a significant increase in January, with the largest increase being 1.23% in the week of January 1st.

In terms of raw material liquid wax, the price of liquid wax rose this month and fluctuated, leading to tight market supply and fluctuations in liquid wax with crude oil prices. In terms of raw material liquid chlorine, the price of liquid chlorine increased first and then decreased this month. The market trading atmosphere was acceptable, mainly for downstream supply in the surrounding areas, and for maintenance or load reduction operation of some enterprise installations.
