SunSirs: Weak Consumption, China Egg Prices Fell in December

According to the monitoring of the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of eggs at the beginning of this month was 9.60 RMB/kg, and at the end of this month, the price of eggs was 8.70 RMB/kg, a decrease of 9.38%, and a decrease of 9.09% compared to the same period last year.
In December, egg prices fell, and downstream wholesalers took advantage of the situation to purchase low-priced goods. The overall arrival volume in the sales area increased slightly, and terminal demand was weak. Sales were average, with no obvious positive support. Many areas were affected by snowfall weather, and road transportation was restricted and shipments were not smooth. There was a backlog of goods in some markets, and terminal consumption in the market continued to be sluggish. Market transactions were relatively light, and cautious purchasing was observed in all aspects, mainly through active clearance of inventory.
Due to the impact of egg prices, the sales of Taoji have increased recently. Due to the average digestion of Taoji terminals, slaughter companies have not been very proactive in purchasing. Coupled with the recent suspension of meat breeding chickens, the conversion of breeding eggs to commercial eggs has increased, resulting in a significant increase in egg supply. Some production areas have accumulated inventory, and it is expected that the pressure on supply side shipments will increase next week.
The egg market has light trading volume and lacks strong support for prices. It is expected that the short-term egg price will mainly fluctuate weakly.
