According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the domestic sodium metabisulfite price had slightly strengthened this week. The average price of industrial grade sodium metabisulfite at the beginning of the week was 2,650.00 RMB/ton, and the average price at the weekend was 2,683.33 RMB/ton, with a weekly increase of 1.26%.
Analysis review
In mid September, the prices of upstream raw materials for sodium metabisulfite fluctuated, and the overall increase in raw material costs had slowed down. This week, the domestic market price for sodium metabisulfite remained stable and stronger, with a price range of 2,600-2,800 RMB/ton for industrial grade sodium metabisulfite this week, with most prices concentrated around 2,750-2,800 RMB/ton. Enterprises mainly completed old customer orders.
As of September 15th, the price of domestic soda ash had increased by 4.44% during the month, while the price of sulfur had slightly decreased, with a decrease of 3.25% during the month. Upstream raw material prices fluctuated with up and down, and the overall trend of raw material cost increase had stabilized.
Market outlook
Analysts from SunSirs believe that the rise in raw material costs had slowed down, and downstream trading entities had increased their wait-and-see attitude. It is expected that there will be insufficient momentum for the domestic market price of sodium metabisulfite to continue to rise in the short term.
