Analysis review

Bromine prices slightly increased this week. The mainstream market price in Shandong was around 18,000-20,000 RMB/ton, with a slight increase in market prices. Mainly due to the arrival of the rainy season, the production of seawater bromine brine had decreased, resulting in a slight decrease in bromine production. However, downstream support was average, and the flame retardant and intermediate industries were still mainly purchasing according to demand recently. The attitude of the bromine industry was average. Bromine prices rose, but demand had not rebounded, the wait-and-see atmosphere was strong.

In terms of raw materials, the domestic sulfur price had risen, with an average market price of 753.33 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 770 RMB/ton at the weekend. The price had increased by 2.21%, and a year-on-year decrease of 56.66%. The production was stable, manufacturers’ inventory was rational, market supply was tight, the enthusiasm for downstream demand procurement increased, the negotiation atmosphere improved, and sulfur market was consolidated.

Market outlook

The price of bromine recently slightly increased. The price of upstream sulfur slightly increased. The demand for downstream flame retardants and intermediates in the bromine industry was still average, and bromine enterprises had a clear intention to increase prices recently. However, the overall mentality of the industry was mainly wait-and-see. The supply and demand gamed. Overall, it is expected that the price of bromine will consolidate in the short term, depending on downstream market demand.
