SunSirs: Bromine Prices Were Running smoothly this week (June 20-27)

According to the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of bromine temporarily stabilized this week. The average market price of bromine from June 20th to June 27th was 18,000 RMB/ton, and a year-on-year decrease of 69.18%.

On June 26th, the bromine commodity index was 63.16 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 74.24% from the cycle's highest point of 245.18 points (2021-10-27), and an increase of 7.20% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29th, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1st, 2011 to the present)

Analysis review

Bromine prices were running smoothly this week. The mainstream market price in Shandong region was around 17,500-18,500 RMB/ton, and there was currently no significant fluctuation in the market. The overall trading atmosphere in the bromine market was light, and supply had increased. The downstream support was average, and the flame retardant and intermediate industries were still mainly purchasing according to demand recently. The attitude of the bromine industry was average. The intention to stabilize the price of bromine was relatively obvious, and the shipment was average, with a strong wait-and-see atmosphere.

In terms of raw materials, the domestic sulfur market was operating weakly, with an average market price of 796.67 RMB/ton on June 20th and 746.67 RMB/ton on June 27th. The price had decreased by 6.28%, and a year-on-year decrease of 79.98%. Manufacturers had sufficient inventory, downstream demand was weak, and the enthusiasm for purchasing in the market was not good. The amount of trading was small, the purchases were based on demand, the market negotiation atmosphere was weak and the sulfur market was weak.

Market outlook

Recently, the bromine prices were running smoothly, upstream sulfur prices were downward. The demand for downstream flame retardants and intermediates in the bromine industry was still average, and bromine companies had a clear intention to support prices recently. The overall attitude of the industry was pessimistic, mainly wait-and-see overall. It is expected that the short-term bromine prices will consolidate, depending on the downstream market demand.
