SunSirs: From February to Date, the Domestic Dimethyl Carbonate Market Had Been Running Upward As a Whole (February 1-22)

Price trend

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of February 22, 2023, the average ex-factory price of domestic industrial grade dimethyl carbonate was 4,933 RMB/ton. Compared with February 1, 2023 (the reference price of dimethyl carbonate was 4,666 RMB/ton), the price increased by 267 RMB/ton, or 5.71%.

Analysis review

It can be seen from the monitoring chart of the data of SunSirs that the domestic dimethyl carbonate market had shown an overall upward trend since February (2.1-2.22). In the first ten days of February, the domestic dimethyl carbonate market as a whole was weaker in consolidation, downstream demand was weak, effective support for dimethyl carbonate was limited, and the market operated stably. In the middle of February, the downstream demand for dimethyl carbonate ushered in a phased stock, and the demand improved. In addition to the rising cost of raw materials, the cost side also had certain support for dimethyl carbonate. The dimethyl carbonate market ushered in a small increase. As of February 22, the domestic market price of dimethyl carbonate was around 4,700-5,000 RMB/ton, up more than 5% compared with the beginning of the month.

Market outlook

The trading atmosphere of dimethyl carbonate in the field is mild, the downstream demand of dimethyl carbonate is gradually rising, and the downstream and terminal operations are gradually recovering. The dimethyl carbonate data analyst of SunSirs believes that in the short term, the domestic market price of dimethyl carbonate is mainly stable and slightly stronger, and the specific trend needs to pay more attention to the changes in the supply and demand information.
