SunSirs: The Price of 2-EH in Shandong Rose 2.03% This Week (January 14-20)

It can be seen from the above figure that the ex-factory price of 2-EH in Shandong Province rose slightly this week. This week, the average ex-factory price of 2-EH mainstream manufacturers in Shandong increased from 9,833.33 RMB/ton at the end of last week to 10,033.33 RMB/ton at the end of this week, an increase of 2.03%. Compared with the same period last year, it fell 17.53% year-on-year.

The 2-EH commodity index on January 27 was 73.77, which was the same as the previous day, down 46.35% from the highest point of 137.50 points (2021-08-08) in the cycle, and up 109.87% from the lowest point of 35.15 points on February 1, 2016. (Note: the period refers to September 1, 2011 to now)

Upstream support increased, and downstream demand was better

From the manufacturer's quotation, the ex-factory quotation of Shandong 2-EH mainstream manufacturers rose slightly this week: Jianlan Chemical's 2-EH unit was under maintenance; Lihuayi’s 2-EH was quoted at 9,900 RMB/ton at the end of this week, up 200 RMB/ton from last weekend; Hualu Hengsheng quoted 10,300 RMB/ton of 2-EH at the end of the week, up 200 RMB/ton from the beginning of the week.

From the perspective of the upstream raw material market of 2-EH, the market price of propylene rose slightly this week, from 7,330.60 RMB/ton at the end of last week to 7,560.60 RMB/ton at the end of this week, up 3.14%, and down 7.94% year-on-year. The market price of upstream raw materials rose slightly, and the cost support was good. Affected by the supply and demand side, it had a positive impact on the price of 2-EH.

From the downstream market of 2-EH, the factory price of DOP rose slightly this week. The price of DOP rose from 10,020.00 RMB/ton at the end of last week to 10,120.00 RMB/ton at the end of this week, up 1.00%, and down 11.03% year-on-year. Downstream DOP prices rose slightly, and downstream customers actively increased their purchases of 2-EH.

Market outlook

In the middle and early February, the market price of 2-EH in Shandong Province may fluctuate upward slightly. The upstream propylene market rose slightly, with good cost support. Downstream DOP market rose slightly, and downstream demand increased. The 2-EH analyst of SunSirs believes that in the short term, the domestic 2-EH market will probably rise slightly in shock under the influence of supply and demand and raw materials.
