SunSirs: This Week, the Domestic Phosphate Rock Market Was Stable and Consolidated (December 8-15)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, as of December 15, the reference average price of 30% grade phosphate rock in China was around 1,056 RMB/ton, which was basically the same as that on December 8. Compared with that on June 15 (the reference price of phosphate rock was 1,043 RMB/ton), the price increased by 13 RMB/ton, or 1.21%.

Analysis review

It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that this week (12.08-12.15) the domestic phosphate rock market was generally stable and sorted out, the news on the market was relatively calm, the overall change in the supply and demand side was small, the supply side was still tight, and the demand side just needed to purchase.

Near the end of the year, some mining areas in China stopped mining, and mainly received the orders for next year. The quotation also was kept to the beginning of next year. As of December 15, the domestic market price of 30% grade phosphate rock was around 1,030-1,080 RMB/ton, and the price of 28% grade phosphate rock was around 950-980 RMB/ton. The reference price of 32% grade phosphate ore was around 1,150-1,250 RMB/ton. The specific price was different according to the original ore specification and powder/lump ratio, and the specific price needed to be negotiated.

Market outlook

The year 2022 is coming to an end. According to the phosphate rock data engineer of SunSirs, in the short term, the domestic phosphate rock market will not change much, and the overall operation will continue to be dominated by high-level consolidation. For the specific trend, more attention should be paid to the information changes on the supply and demand side.
