On January 14, 2026, the Shanghai Gold Exchange's midday benchmark price for Shanghai Silver (standard weight 15 kg, silver bars with a purity of not less than 99.99%, pricing contract) was 22,791 RMB/kg, an increase of 317 RMB/kg (1.41%) compared to the morning benchmark price of 22,474 RMB/kg; and an increase of 1,734 RMB/kg (8.23%) compared to the previous trading day's midday price of 21,057 RMB/kg.

Market analysis

The benchmark spot price of silver in Shanghai rose by 1,734 RMB/kg (8.23%) in a single day, with an intraday increase of 1.41%, indicating strong demand or tightening supply, which is bullish for spot prices. Combined with data from the silver futures market, such as the closing price of the 2604 contract at 22,763 RMB/kg, an increase of 1,219 RMB/kg, a trading volume of 1,276,377 lots, and an increase in open interest of 9,896 lots, the market shows strong activity and a bullish sentiment, further supporting the upward trend in futures prices.
