SunSirs: China SBR Market Fluctuated slightly

SBR market fluctuated slightly in early December. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of December 10, the domestic price of SBR was 10,833 RMB/ton, a slight drop of 0.23% compared with 10,858 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month. Recently, the ex factory price of two barrels of oil SBR has been temporarily stable. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of December 10, the ex factory report of Jilin SBR 1502 of PetroChina Northeast Sales Company was 10,700 RMB/ton. The downstream inquiry is general, and the merchant's offer is adjusted slightly. As of October 10, the market offer of SBR 1502 was 10,700-11,000 RMB/ton.

In the first ten days of December, the prices of raw materials butadiene and styrene rose, and the cost of SBR rose. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of December 9, the price of butadiene was 6,566 RMB/ton, 2.48% higher than 6,407 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month; As of December 9, the price of styrene was 7,916 RMB/ton, up 2.81% from 7,700 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

Li Changrong's 50,000 t/a SBR plant was restarted on December 4. Since December, the commencement of SBR plant has been slightly higher than that at the end of November. However, on the one hand, the 100,000 t/a styrene butadiene unit of Vitex continued to shut down, and in the later period, the 180,000 t/a styrene butadiene unit of Shenhua was planned to be reduced to second-line operation in the middle of the year, so the pressure on the supply side of SBR was not large.

The natural rubber market rose in December, supporting SBR. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of December 10, the price of natural rubber was 12,420 RMB/ton, up 1.64% from 12,220 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month.

The demand side is still weak. In December, the commencement of downstream tire enterprises picked up slightly, but the demand side support is still weak. According to the business agency, the construction of semi steel tires in Shandong is around 640%, and that of full steel tires is around 60%.

SunSirs analysts believe that the cost will rise slightly; Downstream construction started slightly; China SBR is expected to rise slightly in the short term.
