SunSirs: The NMP Market Suffered a Severe Setback Due to the ‘sliding’ of raw materials

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the NMP market continued to decline this week (11.14-11.18). The average price of electronic NMP at the beginning of the week was 24,166 RMB/ton, and the average price at the weekend was 23,500 RMB/ton, down 2.76%.

Analysis review

According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, as of Friday, the mainstream quotation of the domestic electronic NMP market was 22,000-23,000 RMB/ton. This week, BDO of raw materials increased its decline. Affected by this, there was a strong wait-and-see atmosphere in the downstream of NMP, and procurement was restrained. It is understood that some raw materials for lithium batteries had risen sharply recently, leading to a decline in sales of some lithium battery manufacturers, and the demand for NMP had also been affected to some extent.

Raw materials: BDO fell by more than 10% this week. The market lacked positive support. Traders were more cautious and bearish, with few real orders, downstream demand remained sluggish, and supply and demand pressures remained.

Market outlook

NMP analysts from SunSirs believe that the cost side collapsed and downstream demand continued to wait and see. It is expected that in the future, with the BDO price bottoming out, the NMP price will continue to fall near the cost line.
