According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, as of November 16, 2022, the reference price of domestic MEK market was 8,933 RMB/ton. Compared with the price on November 7 (the reference price of MEK was 8,700 RMB/ton), the average price increased by 233 RMB/ton, or 2.68%. On November 16, the domestic market price of MEK was around 8,800-9,300 RMB/ton.

Downstream

It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that recently (11.07-11.16), the domestic MEK market has shown an overall upward trend. The driving force supporting the domestic MEK market upward mainly came from the following two aspects:

In terms of cost, the overall rising of ether carbon four price strengthened the cost support for MEK, and the MEK factories actively supported the price, driving the MEK market to rise steadily.

In terms of supply, the overall performance of domestic MEK export was good in the early stage. In November, the MEK unit load was not high, and there was no news of restart of parking devices in the market, and the overall operating rate remained at a moderate level. MEK supply side inventory was tight, the supply pressure of the industry was small, and the offer was mostly firm.

Market outlook

At present, the downstream demand for MEK is mainly based on the purchase of just needed. The wait-and-see atmosphere in the market is strong, the trading atmosphere is general, and the support from the demand side is general.
