At the beginning of the month, the average price in the Shandong market was 1,238 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month, the average price in the Shandong market was about 1,140 RMB/ton. The price fell 7.92%, and the price rose 33.04% compared with the same period last year.

This was mainly because the enterprise had equipment maintenance, which was good for the market, and the demand of downstream enterprises was good. Moreover, the export of caustic soda was good, and the price of caustic soda continued to rise. The fall in caustic soda price in late October was mainly due to the decline in the price of caustic soda on the market and the delay in shipment compared with the previous period. Most of the main caustic soda enterprises had stable production and sufficient supply of goods on the site, but the downstream market was mainly wait-and-see, and the shipment was more general than in the early stage.

According to the price monitoring of SunSirs, there were 1 rising commodity, 2 falling commodities and 2 zero rising and falling commodities in the price list of chlor alkali industry in the 42nd week of 2022 (10.17-10.21). The main commodities that rose were hydrochloric acid (1.88%); The main commodities falling were caustic soda (-2.37%) and PVC (-0.69%). The average rise and fall this week was -0.23%.

Market outlook
