SunSirs: China NBR Market Continues to be Weak

The market situation of NBR continued to be weak. Last week (10.14-10.21), the price of NBR fell slightly. According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of October 21, the price of NBR was 16,300 RMB/ ton, down 2.10% from 16,650 RMB/ ton last Friday. After the festival, the ex factory price of NBR enterprises has been lowered successively. As of October 21, the listing price of Lanzhou Petrochemical N41 NBR was 15,400 RMB/ ton, and the ex factory price of Shunze 3355 NBR was 16,000 RMB/ ton, according to the monitoring of SunSirs; Sinopec Sibul NBR 3365 factory report 15,800 RMB/ ton.

Since October, the price of raw material butadiene has declined, the price of acrylonitrile has risen, and the cost of NBR has differentiated. In addition, the downstream demand is weak, the merchants ship at low prices, and the market price of NBR is gradually lower.

According to the monitoring of SunSirs, as of October 21, the price of butadiene was 7,608 RMB/ ton, 1.95% lower than that of 7,760 RMB/ ton last Friday; As of October 21, the price of acrylonitrile was 10,790 RMB/ ton, up 5.27% from 10,250 RMB/ ton on Friday.

The domestic NBR plants are basically operating normally, with the industry starting at around 80%, and the supply of NBR in the market is loose. According to SunSirs, the 100,000 t/a NBR plant of Lanzhou Petrochemical is operating normally; The 30,000 t/a NBR plant of Nanjing Jinpu Insa Synthetic Rubber Co., Ltd. is in normal production; Normal production of Zhenjiang Nandi 50,000 t/a NBR plant; The load of 65,000 t/a unit in Ningbo Shunze was raised to normal operation.

After the National Day, the construction of NBR downstream was temporarily stabilized. There are few new orders for nitrile enterprises, the market turnover is light, and the demand for NBR is insufficient.

Future forecast: SunSirs NBR analysts believe that the cost of NBR is differentiated at present, and the demand support is insufficient. It is expected that China NBR market will be weak in the short term.
