According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, as of October 12, 2022, the average price of the silicone DMC market in the mainstream regions in China was 17,580 RMB/ton, down 620 RMB/ton, or 3.41%, compared with the price on October 2, 2022 (the reference price was 18,200 RMB/ton).

Analysis review

It can be seen from the data monitoring chart of SunSirs that the overall domestic silicone DMC market was in a weak downward trend after returning from the National Day holiday in October. On the first two days after returning from the festival, there was a large factory in Shandong that quoted 17,500 RMB/ton of silicone DMC, which was basically the same as before the festival. The news of silicone DMC was relatively calm, and the market was dominated by consolidation. On the 10th, some silicone DMC suppliers with higher prices before the festival started the profit-cutting sales mode, and the actual order can be negotiated to make a profit-cutting of about 300-500 RMB/ton. On the 11th and 12th, the weak decline trend of the silicone DMC market continued. The quotation of silicone DMC from a large factory in Shandong was lowered to 17,300 RMB/ton. Other monomer factories and suppliers in the market continued to hold the discussion space. As of October 12, the domestic silicone DMC market price was around 17,300-17,500 RMB/ton, and some high quotations were 18,000 RMB/ton.

In terms of upstream metal silicon, after the National Day holiday, the domestic metal silicon (product name: 441 #) market situation was stable. According to the data monitoring of SunSirs, the reference price of metal silicon was 21,250 RMB/ton on October 11, a decrease of 0.05% compared with that of October 1 (21,260.00 RMB/ton).

Market outlook

At present, the midstream and downstream of the silicone DMC are still cautious about stocking up as a whole, with a strong wait-and-see attitude. The contradiction between supply and demand in the market is obvious. It is heard that some monomer devices will have load reduction and maintenance plans in the near future. The supply side will actively ship, while the demand side will continue to just need to stock up.
