SunSirs: Buying Atmosphere Was General, and EPS Price Fell

According to the monitoring data of SunSirs, the average price of EPS common materials at the beginning of this week was 10,975 RMB/ton, and the average price of EPS common materials at the weekend was 10,875 RMB/ton, down 0.91% and up 5.23% compared with the same period last year.

Analysis review

With the correction of styrene, the risk-aversion sentiment of merchants in the market has increased, and the buying atmosphere was in general. After the middle of the week, as styrene rebounded again, the overall transaction of EPS was good, but the local epidemic had a significant impact on supply and demand. As of May 12, the general material of Jiangsu sample enterprises was 11,100 RMB/ton, which was unchanged from the previous month, and the fuel resistance was 12,000 RMB/ton, which was unchanged from the previous month.

The downstream demand for EPS was flat. Under the influence of the epidemic and production profits, the production situation of domestic downstream factories was not optimistic, and it was difficult for the supply and demand side to provide effective support for styrene. Domestic styrene prices showed a shocking trend of callback after rising. During the week, the high-end spot transaction in Jiangsu was 10,150 RMB/ton, the low-end transaction was 9,750 RMB/ton, and the price difference between the high and low ends was 400 RMB/ton.

Market outlook

The upward momentum of styrene may be insufficient, and the downstream demand is relatively weak. It is expected that the downstream construction or changes will be limited next week. It is expected that the EPS market may fluctuate to be weak next week.
