August 13 2021 09:55:22     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the data monitoring of the large list of business agencies, the price of bromine has fallen this week. At the beginning of the week, the average market price of bromine in Shandong was 43,125 RMB/ton, and the average price of bromine in the market at the weekend was 43,062 RMB/ton. The price dropped by 0.14% and the price was up 54.72% from the same period last year.

The Bromine Commodity Index on August 11 was 151.10, a decrease of 0.22 points from previous day, a decrease of 6.51% from the highest point in the cycle of 161.62 points (2021-07-01), and an increase of 156.45% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: Period refers to 2011-09-01 to present)

Analysis review

Domestic bromine declined. As of the 12th, mainstream companies reported about 42,000-43,500 RMB/ton for bromine, and the price of bromine was weaker than the previous period. Mainly because downstream flame retardants and intermediates started to operate at low loads, and under environmental pressure, the purchase of bromine was reduced. However, due to the recent rainy season in the north, the supply of bromine companies has decreased, and the main force is to support prices.

In terms of raw materials: the domestic sulfur market is temporarily stable, and the quotations of refineries in various regions are stable according to their own shipments. Refineries in the domestic area are operating normally, traders mainly purchase on-demand, external prices are firm, and insiders have a better mentality. The supply of downstream phosphate fertilizer is tight, and mainly deliver pre-export orders, and only a small number of new orders are received. The market is mainly on the rise, and which has good support for sulfur. In the future, the sulfur market will wait and see to sort out, and pay attention to the downstream follow-up situation.

Market outlook

SunSirs’ analysts believe that the overall demand for bromine has increased slowly, but now the downstream flame retardant and intermediate industries of bromine are operating at low loads, and the demand for bromine is reduced. Most of them purchase on demand, and they are resistant to high-priced bromine. It is expected that the short-term bromine price will be weaker in the later period, depending on the downstream market demand.
