SunSirs: EU Car Sales Fell 24% year on year in January 2021
February 19 2021 10:05:44     SunSirs (Selena)According to the latest data released by the European Association of automobile manufacturers (ACEA), in January 2021, as the restrictions related to COVID-19 continue to seriously affect the sales of the whole EU, the passenger car market in the EU will accelerate the decline. New car registrations fell 24% from 956,447 in January 2020 to 726,491 this year, the lowest monthly total on record so far.
In January, almost all 27 EU markets suffered sharp drops, including three of the four major markets: Spain (-51.5%), Germany (-31.1%) and Italy (-14.0%). The French market was the best, down 5.8%. In fact, Sweden (+22.5%) and France (-5.8%) are EU countries without sharp drops.
