SunSirs: US Naval Blockade of Iranian Waters Raises Expectations of Tightened Crude Supply
September 04 2026 13:30:39     SunSirs (Selena)
On September 3 (local time), US Central Command announced that US forces are continuing to enforce a maritime blockade against Iran in regional waters. As of that day, US forces had diverted 87 commercial vessels, disabled three, and boarded two for inspection.
As a major global crude oil exporter, Iran faces severe obstacles to its oil exports due to the US maritime blockade. This has significantly heightened expectations of a contraction in global crude supplies, providing strong bullish support for both spot and futures crude oil prices.
