SunSirs: China Rapeseed Meal Prices Likely to Fluctuate Weakly in the Short Term

According to data from SunSirs, the average market price of rapeseed meal was 2,412 RMB/ton on August 19 and 2,354 RMB/ton on August 25, representing a decline of 2.40%.
Arrivals of imported rapeseed have steadily increased, and domestic crushing operations have picked up, leading to a rise in the supply of spot rapeseed meal; overall spot availability is relatively ample. Expectations of continued ample arrivals of imported rapeseed are dampening bullish market sentiment.
As the aquaculture season enters its later stages, high temperatures are limiting feeding activities, causing a marginal weakening in demand for rapeseed meal in the aquaculture sector. Price competition with soybean meal creates substitution pressure; feed manufacturers are primarily purchasing on an as-needed basis with little inclination to chase rising prices, resulting in cautious spot market trading.
Rapeseed meal prices have recently trended downward with fluctuations; without significant bullish drivers, the potential for a rebound remains limited. The market is expected to maintain a pattern of weak, fluctuating prices.
