SunSirs: China Domestic Corn Starch Prices Trended Weakly Last Week
August 10 2026 14:19:17     SunSirs (Selena)
According to data from SunSirs, domestic corn starch prices remained weak throughout last week. The average price of food-grade corn starch (first grade) was 2,940.00 RMB/ton at the start of the week and 2,912.00 RMB/ton by the weekend, marking a weekly decline of 0.95%.
Since the beginning of August, domestic corn prices have trended downward, pressured by factors such as ample supply, an abundance of substitutes, and sluggish downstream demand. With raw material costs falling and downstream buyers exercising caution, domestic corn starch prices have followed suit.
SunSirs corn starch analysts believe that, given the ongoing decline in costs, cautious downstream purchasing, and a market characterized by strong supply and weak demand, domestic corn starch prices will continue to trend weakly in the short term, tracking the movement of domestic corn prices.
