Macroeconomics

1. [Electric Power] National Energy Administration: As of the end of June, the country's cumulative installed power generation capacity stood at 4.04 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 10.8%. Specifically, installed solar power capacity reached 1.27 billion kilowatts (up 15.8% year-on-year), and installed wind power capacity reached 680 million kilowatts (up 18.5% year-on-year).

2. [Public Budget Revenue] Ministry of Finance: In the first half of the year, national general public budget revenue totaled 12.1047 trillion RMB, up 4.7% year-on-year, while general public budget expenditure reached 14.3329 trillion RMB, up 1.5% year-on-year. Stamp duty on securities transactions amounted to 154.9 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 97.3%.

3. [Automobiles] According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, sales of Chinese-brand passenger vehicles totaled 1.812 million units in June, up 7.3% month-on-month and 6.2% year-on-year; this accounted for 75.5% of total passenger vehicle sales, with the market share rising by 8.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year. From January to June, sales of Chinese-brand passenger vehicles totaled 9.138 million units, down 1.4% year-on-year; this accounted for 71.8% of total passenger vehicle sales, with the market share rising by 3.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

Steels

1. [Rebar] On July 21, Shagang announced its ex-factory prices for late July, lowering the prices of rebar, wire rod, and coiled rebar by 100 RMB/ton. Jiangsu Yonggang kept its prices for rebar, wire rod, and coiled rebar stable for the same period.

2. [Stainless Steel] In June 2026, China's total stainless steel exports reached 443,100 tonnes, an increase of 27,800 tonnes (6.26%) month-on-month and 53,200 tonnes (13.63%) year-on-year. From January to June, total stainless steel exports stood at 2.0558 million tonnes, a year-on-year decrease of 444,300 tonnes (17.77%). Net exports in June 2026 totaled 322,900 tonnes, up 42,400 tonnes (15.11%) year-on-year. Net exports for the January–June period totaled 1.3034 million tonnes, down 369,200 tonnes (22.07%) year-on-year.
