According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the market price of isopropanol rose last week; the domestic average price was 6,283.34 RMB/ton on Monday and 6,766.66 RMB/ton on Friday, marking an increase of 7.69%.
Market analysis
The market price of isopropanol (IPA) rose last week. Prices for feedstocks—acetone and propylene—both increased, providing strong cost support and prompting manufacturers to raise their quotes. However, overall trading activity remained lackluster; there was insufficient follow-through at higher price points, and downstream buyers placed actual orders cautiously, resulting in moderate trading volume. As of July 17, most market quotes for IPA in the Shandong region hovered around 6,500-6,600 RMB/ton, while quotes in the Jiangsu region were mostly in the 6,700-6,800 RMB/ton range.
Market outlook
Analysts at SunSirs observe that while the market price of isopropanol rose last week, overall market follow-through was insufficient; sales at higher price points proved sluggish, and the general level of price quotations began to soften.
