SunSirs: Price Situation of Livestock Products and Feed in Farmers' Markets in the First Week of July

According to the monitoring of 500 county fairs and collection points across the country, in the first week of July (collection date: July 2), the prices of live pigs, pork, beef cattle and fresh milk rose month-on-month, while the prices of piglets, eggs, commercial layer chicks, live sheep and broiler compound feed fell month-on-month. The prices of chicken, commercial meat chicks, mutton, corn, soybean meal, finishing pig compound feed and layer chicken compound feed remained flat month-on-month.

Prices of pig products. The national average price of piglets was 21.64 RMB per kilogram, down 0.1% from the previous week and 40.1% year-on-year. Piglet prices rose in 13 provinces including Fujian, Liaoning, Jiangxi, Hainan and Guangdong, while falling in 16 provinces such as Tianjin, Shaanxi, Hubei, Yunnan and Xinjiang. Prices were higher in South China at 23.31 RMB per kilogram; prices were lower in Southwest China at 20.98 RMB per kilogram. The national average price of live pigs was 10.48 RMB per kilogram, up 4.2% from the previous week and 29.9% year-on-year. Live pig prices rose in 27 provinces including Fujian, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Hainan and Shanghai, while falling in Xinjiang, Qinghai and Yunnan. Prices were higher in East China at 10.92 RMB per kilogram; prices were lower in North China at 10.11 RMB per kilogram. The national average price of pork was 19.82 RMB per kilogram, up 1.0% from the previous week and 21.8% year-on-year. Pork prices rose in 21 provinces such as Heilongjiang, Fujian, Hunan, Jilin and Anhui, fell in 8 provinces including Qinghai, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Hainan and Inner Mongolia, and remained flat in Tianjin. Prices were higher in South China at 23.27 RMB per kilogram; prices were lower in Northeast China at 16.88 RMB per kilogram.

Prices of poultry products. The national average price of eggs was 10.62 RMB per kilogram, down 2.7% from the previous week and up 25.2% year-on-year. The average price of eggs in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Liaoning was 9.65 RMB per kilogram, down 5.4% from the previous week and up 41.1% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken was 22.21 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 1.2% year-on-year. The average price of commercial layer chicks was 3.88 RMB per chick, down 0.5% from the previous week and up 0.8% year-on-year. The average price of commercial broiler chicks was 3.36 RMB per chick, unchanged from the previous week and up 5.0% year-on-year.

Prices of cattle and sheep products. The national average price of beef is 73.55 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1% from the previous week and 5.3% year-on-year. The price of beef in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Inner Mongolia is 67.95 RMB per kilogram, a 0.1% increase from the previous week. The price of live cattle in major producing provinces is 28.16 RMB per kilogram, up 0.1% from the previous week and 6.0% year-on-year. The national average price of mutton is 72.64 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and up 5.2% year-on-year. The price of mutton in 10 major producing provinces including Hebei and Inner Mongolia is 71.09 RMB per kilogram, a 0.1% increase from the previous week. The price of live sheep in major producing provinces is 30.71 RMB per kilogram, a 0.3% decrease from the previous week and up 7.1% year-on-year.

Raw milk prices. The average price of raw milk in 10 major producing provinces including Inner Mongolia and Hebei was 3.04 RMB per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week and flat compared with the same period last year.

Feed prices. The national average price of corn is 2.48 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 0.4% year-on-year. The corn price in the three northeastern major producing provinces is 2.32 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.4% from the previous week; the corn price in Guangdong Province, a major sales area, is 2.51 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week. The national average price of soybean meal is 3.18 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 3.9% year-on-year. The average price of finishing pig compound feed is 3.36 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 0.9% year-on-year. The average price of broiler compound feed is 3.50 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.3% from the previous week and down 0.6% year-on-year. The average price of layer chicken compound feed is 3.23 RMB per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week and down 0.3% year-on-year.
