Macroeconomics
1. [PPI] National Bureau of Statistics: In June 2026, China's producer prices for manufactured goods rose by 4.1% year-on-year and fell by 0.3% month-on-month. Producer purchase prices rose by 6.4% year-on-year and fell by 0.2% month-on-month. For the first half of the year, producer prices for manufactured goods increased by 1.5% year-on-year, while producer purchase prices rose by 2.4%.
2. [CPI] National Bureau of Statistics: In June 2026, China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 1.0% year-on-year and fell by 0.3% month-on-month. The average CPI for the January–June period increased by 1.0% year-on-year.
3. [Automobiles] Data from the CPCA (China Passenger Car Association) shows that retail sales in the national passenger vehicle market totaled 1.602 million units in June, a year-on-year decline of 23.2%. Of this total, retail sales of conventional internal combustion engine vehicles stood at 600,000 units (down 39% year-on-year), while retail sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 1.007 million units (down 9.4% year-on-year); the domestic retail penetration rate for NEVs was 62.8%. Exports of new energy passenger vehicles in June totaled 499,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 152.7%.
4. [New Zealand Rate Hike] On July 8, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand announced a 25-basis-point interest rate hike, raising the benchmark rate to 2.50%, in line with market expectations.
Chemicals
1. [Hydrofluoric Acid] A joint project between Do-Fluoride and Hubei Yihua with an annual capacity of 30,000 tons of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride has recently entered the trial production phase; a project with an annual capacity of 20,000 tons of electronic-grade hydrofluoric acid has reached mechanical completion and is set to begin trial production soon; and a project with an annual capacity of 10,000 tons of electronic-grade phosphoric acid has been filed for record, with construction expected to commence in the second half of the year.
2. [Hydrofluoric Acid] Jin'ebo Fluorine Chemical, a holding subsidiary of Jinshi Resources, has temporarily suspended production. The subsidiary typically produces approximately 20,000 tons of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride per month; this temporary suspension is expected to have some impact on short-term operations.
3. [Lithium Carbonate] Recently, PLS's Ngungaju processing plant resumed production of spodumene concentrate; the facility has already processed the first batch of ore and is expected to reach stable production levels within the current quarter.
4. [Phosphoric Acid] On July 8, Dynanonic announced that it has established an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons for phosphate-based cathode materials and 5,000 tons for lithium-supplementing enhancers.
5. [TDI] It is reported that the Western TDI plant, which has an annual capacity of 150,000 tons, is scheduled to shut down for annual maintenance in early August.
6. [Aniline] On July 9, Dongying Huatai raised its aniline price by 400 RMB/ton; the latest price is set at 10,700 RMB/ton for cash payments and 10,800 RMB/ton for acceptance bill payments, with the 100,000-ton capacity unit operating normally.
7. [Styrene] On July 9, Lihuayi Weiyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. quoted styrene at 7,800 RMB/ton, an increase of 300 RMB/ton from the previous trading day.
