Price trends
According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the market for polyaluminum chloride remained stable in June; as of the 30th, the market price for solid polyaluminum chloride (industrial grade, content ≥28%) in my country was quoted at approximately 1,811.67 RMB/ton, remaining steady compared to the price on the 1st.
Market Analysis
Raw materials such as alumina and hydrochloric acid account for over 60% of the production cost of polyaluminum chloride; meanwhile, the market price of upstream electrolytic aluminum saw a sharp decline in June. In the hydrochloric acid market, the concentrated resumption of operations at chlor-alkali facilities during the latter half of the month led to a significant rebound in acid output; this resulted in a marked increase in overall industry supply and ample market availability, placing intense pressure on manufacturers to move inventory and prompting them to proactively lower their quotes.
In June, the water treatment industry entered a traditional period of low, stable activity; orders for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment remained at baseline levels driven by essential demand, with no large-scale, concentrated procurement. Downstream water treatment plants replenished stocks of water purification agents on an as-needed basis—favoring small-batch, short-cycle orders—while large-volume bulk purchases were rare; consequently, market conditions lacked the demand-side pressure to drive up prices. Meanwhile, the pace of new environmental protection projects was slow, and the volume of chemical procurement for these projects was limited, making it difficult to spur a rise in prices.
Market Outlook:
In the short term, barring unexpected factors in July—such as significant fluctuations in raw material costs, centralized procurement for downstream wastewater treatment, or environmental production restrictions—the price of polyaluminum chloride is expected to maintain its current stability.
