SunSirs: EU Finalizes Anti-Dumping Ruling on Chinese Passenger Car and Light Truck Tires

On July 7, 2026, the European Commission announced the final results of its anti-dumping investigation into passenger car and light truck tires originating from China.
Details regarding the ruling on Chinese passenger car and light truck tires: It is a final anti-dumping determination taking effect on July 8, 2026. Key duty rates are set at 4.3% for Hankook, 24.4% for other cooperating companies (such as Sailun and Linglong), and 45.3% for non-cooperating companies.
Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) is a primary synthetic rubber raw material for tire production. The finalization of the EU's anti-dumping ruling raises export costs for domestic tire manufacturers and is expected to reduce export volumes; this will transmit to the demand side for SBR, suppressing its price trend—a generally bearish factor.
Nitrile rubber (NBR) is primarily used in oil-resistant seals, hoses, and similar products. It has minimal correlation with the production of the passenger car and light truck tires involved in this case, so the event has no significant impact on its price.
Polybutadiene rubber (BR) is a key synthetic rubber raw material for tire production. The expected decline in downstream demand for tire exports to the EU will weigh on BR demand, exerting a generally bearish influence on its price.
Natural rubber is a core raw material for tire production. Due to the EU's anti-dumping policy, domestic tire export demand faces pressure, and downstream demand for natural rubber is expected to weaken, creating a generally bearish outlook for its price.
