July 03 2026 15:54:07     SunSirs (John)

Price trends

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the domestic market price of isopropanol declined in June. The average domestic price was 7,683.33 RMB/ton on June 1 and 6,191.66 RMB/ton on June 30, representing a 19.41% decrease compared to the beginning of the month.

Domestic market prices for isopropanol (IPA) declined in June. Trading was sluggish during the first ten days of the month; weak downstream demand caused the market to fluctuate and edge downward. In mid-June, a sharp drop in the price of the feedstock acetone—combined with lackluster demand and a lack of cost support—drove IPA prices down. Prices continued to fall in late June as feedstock costs remained weak and downstream demand stayed mediocre. By the end of the month, most market quotes for IPA were around 5,900-6,100 RMB/ton in the Shandong region and approximately 6,200-6,400 RMB/ton in the Jiangsu region.

Market analysis

Regarding the raw material acetone, the domestic market price fluctuated downward in June. The average price stood at 6,950 RMB/ton on June 1 and 5,025 RMB/ton on June 30, representing a decline of 27.7%. Currently, overall trading activity remains lackluster, and the acetone market is expected to see only minor fluctuations within a narrow range in the short term.

Regarding the raw material propylene, the domestic market price fluctuated downward in June. The average market price stood at 9,037.67 RMB/ton on June 1 and fell to 7,244.33 RMB/ton by June 30, representing a decline of 19.84%. Currently, while cost support for propylene remains weak, low plant inventory levels suggest that market prices will likely trend upward in the short term.

Market outlook

Analysts at SunSirs observe that the overall market price of isopropanol (IPA) declined in June. Towards the end of the month, manufacturer quotations saw a slight rebound, with the price range edging upward; however, actual trading remained cautious, with a prevailing wait-and-see sentiment. In the short term, the IPA market is expected to fluctuate within a narrow range, with close attention paid to trends in the raw material market.
