July 03 2026 08:56:39     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the price of bromine declined this month. The average market price was 36,900 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month and 26,900 RMB/ton at the end of the month, representing a 27.1% decrease; however, it was 7.17% higher than the same period last year.

On June 29, the SunSirs bromine index stood at 97.19 points, down 2.81 points from the previous day. This figure is 60.54% lower than the cycle peak of 246.32 points (recorded on April 7, 2026) and 64.95% higher than the cycle low of 58.92 points (recorded on October 29, 2014). (Note: The cycle spans from September 1, 2011, to the present.)

Market Analysis

Market Performance This Month: Bromine prices trended downward, remaining weak. In the Shandong market, prices fell, with manufacturers quoting reference rates of 26,000-28,000 RMB/ton; actual trading was sluggish, and a "wait-and-see" sentiment prevailed. Operating rates in the bromine industry continued to rise, gradually replenishing spot supplies. Regarding demand, downstream enterprises showed only moderate purchasing enthusiasm and a slow pace of transactions, largely limiting themselves to essential, cautious buying.

Raw Materials: Domestic sulfur prices rose throughout the month. The average market price climbed from 7,516.67 RMB/ton at the beginning of the month to 8,935.67 RMB/ton at the end—an increase of 18.88% for the month and 282.79% year-on-year. Downstream buyers generally purchased based on actual needs.

Market Outlook

Bromine prices have recently been trending weakly; while upstream sulfur prices have risen, overall operating rates for bromine production remain high. Downstream buyers are purchasing cautiously, limiting upward momentum. Given the interplay between supply and demand, bromine prices are expected to undergo weak consolidation in the near term, with the outlook contingent on the international situation and downstream market demand.
