Market analysis

According to the Commodity Analysis System of SunSirs, the market for sodium bicarbonate is currently consolidating, with manufacturers reporting steady shipment volumes. Prices in the Henan region remain weak, with ex-factory prices ranging from 1,080 to 1,200 RMB/ton, while ex-factory prices in the Shandong region range from 1,100 to 1,200 RMB/ton. As downstream buyers are primarily purchasing based on immediate needs, the market is expected to continue its consolidation trend in the near term.

Upstream: Data from the SunSirs Commodity Analysis System indicates that soda ash prices trended downward over the week. The average market price was 1,166 RMB/ton at the start of the week and 1,156 RMB/ton by the weekend, representing a decline of 0.86% for the week and a 9.97% drop compared to the same period last year; downstream procurement remains largely demand-driven.

Market Outlook:

Analysts at SunSirs observe that sodium bicarbonate prices have recently been trading within a stable range, mirroring the consolidation seen in the upstream soda ash market. Meanwhile, downstream sectors—including pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food processing—are largely purchasing on an as-needed basis, with demand remaining reasonably active. Overall, sodium bicarbonate prices are expected to continue consolidating in the near term, with future trends contingent on downstream market demand.
