SunSirs: The Domestic Market Price for 441# Silicon Rose Slightly in Early June

June 15 2026 13:27:42     SunSirs (John)

Price trend

According to the market monitoring system of SunSirs, the domestic market price for #441 silicon was 9,440 RMB/ton on June 11, 2026; compared to the price on May 31 (9,420 RMB/ton), this represents an increase of 20 RMB/ton, or 0.21%.

Market Review

In early June, the market for 441# grade silicon saw a slight upward trend, with prices edging up in certain regions. Specifically, the price of 441# silicon at Tianjin Port rose by 50 RMB/ton compared to the end of May, as did the price in the Huangpu Port area. As of June 11, the reference market price for domestic 441# silicon stood at 9,200–9,700 RMB/ton.

Factors Influencing Market Trends

Regarding costs, the market for metallic silicon has recently trended slightly upward amidst fluctuations, supported by the firm price of coking coal. A slight rise in the cost of silicon coal has driven up production costs for silicon enterprises in the north. In early June, market prices for industrial silicon (grade 441#) showed a firming trend; however, downstream buyers adopted a wait-and-see approach, resulting in lackluster trading activity.

Regarding demand, the overall demand for polysilicon—a downstream product of silicon—has been decent, with weekly production seeing a slight month-on-month increase recently. Some polysilicon plants in regions such as Sichuan and Inner Mongolia plan to ramp up production this month; consequently, output is expected to continue rising, providing a boost to silicon demand. Demand from the downstream silicone sector has been lackluster; while weekly operating rates for silicone enterprises remained largely stable in early June, they are expected to decline slightly in the near future due to coordinated emission reduction measures. Demand from the downstream aluminum alloy sector has also been poor, with weekly operating rates remaining low; specifically, operating rates for primary aluminum alloys have held steady, whereas those for recycled aluminum alloys remain weak.

Market Outlook

Currently, trading activity in the silicon market remains subdued, with a prevailing wait-and-see sentiment. Support from the supply side is limited, and it remains to be seen whether significant positive drivers will emerge from the demand side. The market is expected to fluctuate within a range in the near term; specific developments regarding supply-demand dynamics and operating rates should be closely monitored.
