SunSirs: China Domestic Live Pig Prices Trend Weakly Amidst Stability

June 15 2026 11:04:33     SunSirs (Selena)

According to data from SunSirs, domestic prices for three-way crossbred live pigs trended weakly amidst overall stability last week; the average price was 9.53 RMB/kg at the start of the week and 9.50 RMB/kg at the end, marking a slight decline of 0.31%.

Entering the second week of May, the domestic live pig market continued to see ample supply. With the weather warming up, demand in the terminal meat market remained sluggish. Consequently, domestic live pig prices remained under pressure, trending weakly amidst stability and continuing to fluctuate at low levels while bottoming out.

Domestic corn prices fluctuated slightly last week, falling by 0.12% over the period. During the second week of May, the domestic hog-to-grain price ratio continued to hover around 4.1:1, and the live pig farming industry remained in a state of deep loss.

SunSirs analysts believe that there are no substantial positive factors in the short term to drive a rebound in pig prices; weighed down by various negative factors, domestic live pig prices will continue to fluctuate at low levels while bottoming out.
