SunSirs: Brazil's Early-June Corn Exports Outpace Last Year
June 12 2026 13:31:16     SunSirs (Selena)
Data from Secex indicates that Brazil's corn export pace in early June 2026 continues to outstrip levels seen during the same period last year. Export volume totaled 126,000 tonnes between June 1 and June 5, compared to a total of 370,000 tonnes for the entire month of June 2025.
Fundamentals: As a major global corn exporter, Brazil shipped 126,000 tonnes from June 1 to 5—a pace significantly faster than the same period in 2025. Expectations of ample global corn supplies and potential room for lower import costs are exerting downward pressure on domestic spot corn prices. Regarding futures, the benchmark corn contract (2607) on the Dalian Commodity Exchange closed at 2,335 RMB/tonne on June 10, up slightly by 3 RMB/tonne, with open interest decreasing by 37,600 lots. While deferred-month contracts saw slight gains overall and short-term market sentiment remains firm, the medium- to long-term outlook faces bearish pressure from expectations of abundant international supplies.
