SunSirs: Decline in PE Social Inventories Supports Prices

June 10 2026 13:32:06     SunSirs (Selena)

As of June 5, 2026, PE inventories at sampled social warehouses stood at 424,200 tonnes, a decrease of 12,700 tonnes (or 2.90%) from the previous period.

The 2.90% month-on-month decline in sampled social inventories indicates a marginal improvement in supply-demand dynamics, providing positive support for LLDPE spot prices; prices for related futures contracts have also shown strength, underpinned by this favorable inventory data.

LDPE is a specific grade of PE; the overall decline in social inventories has alleviated supply pressure, benefiting LDPE spot prices, while related futures have trended upward, driven by positive momentum across the sector.

HDPE is another grade of PE; the month-on-month drop in social inventories has improved supply-demand expectations, supporting HDPE spot prices and boosting the futures market.
