SunSirs: China Domestic Live Pig Prices Fluctuated with a Weak Trend Last Week

June 08 2026 10:01:34     SunSirs (Selena)

According to data from SunSirs, domestic prices for Sanyuan crossbred live pigs remained low and weak last week; the average price was 9.58 RMB/kg at the start of the week and 9.55 RMB/kg at the weekend, marking a weekly decline of 0.31%.

As June begins, the tug-of-war between supply and demand in the domestic live pig market remains intense. Prices continue to fluctuate at low levels, struggling to find a floor. Demand in the terminal meat market has weakened further as the weather turns hot. Meanwhile, policy-driven efforts to reduce production capacity mean that supply will remain ample in the short term, keeping pig prices low and weak.

Domestic corn prices edged down last week, falling by 0.43%. Throughout June, the domestic pig-to-grain price ratio has hovered around 4.1:1, and the domestic pig farming industry remains in a state of deep loss.

SunSirs analysts believe that the imbalance of strong supply and weak demand is unlikely to ease in the short term, and pig prices will primarily continue to fluctuate at low levels.
