April 30 2026 10:47:29     SunSirs (John)
Price trend
According to the SunSirs Commodity Market Analysis System, the average domestic market price for caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate stood at 1,876 RMB/ton on April 28. This compares to an average price of 1,773 RMB/ton on April 1, marking a 5.83% increase in market prices for caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate over the course of the month.
Market analysis
This month, the domestic ammonium sulfate market exhibited divergent trends: prices for caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate continued to rise, while prices for coke-oven-grade ammonium sulfate retreated from their recent highs; meanwhile, plant operating rates underwent only minor adjustments. Due to the impact of geopolitical conflicts, the international supply of ammonium sulfate remains tight. Manufacturers of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate face no pressure regarding shipments and are primarily focused on maintaining price levels. Conversely, demand for coke-oven-grade ammonium sulfate has weakened, leading to a slowdown in purchasing enthusiasm among downstream buyers, and prices have begun to trend downward. As of April 28, the mainstream ex-factory quotation for coke-oven-grade ammonium sulfate in the Shandong region stood at approximately 1,470–1,500 RMB per ton, while the mainstream ex-factory quotation for caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate in the same region was around 1,860–1,880 RMB per ton.
According to data from SunSirs, domestic ammonium sulfate prices experienced a sustained upward trend during the period from February 2, 2026, to April 20, 2026. Throughout April, domestic ammonium sulfate prices rose continuously, with the largest weekly increase—1.68%—occurring during the week of April 6.
Market Outlook
According to analysts at SunSirs, domestic ammonium sulfate prices have recently exhibited mixed trends. Given the varying conditions of end-market demand, it is projected that in the short term, the domestic market for coking-grade ammonium sulfate will continue to weaken, while caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate is expected to maintain a predominantly strong, upward trajectory.
