SunSirs: China’s EVA Import and Export Volumes Surge Month-on-Month in March

April 28 2026 15:11:42     SunSirs (Selena)

According to customs data, my country’s EVA imports in March 2026 totaled 54,900 tons—a month-on-month increase of 48.38%, though a year-on-year decrease of 24.28%. For the first quarter of 2026 (January–March), cumulative imports reached 150,300 tons, representing a cumulative year-on-year decline of 26%.

The fact that China’s EVA imports reached 54,900 tons in March 2026—marking a substantial month-on-month surge of 48.38%—indicates a significant short-term increase in supply. This could exert downward pressure on spot prices, as rising imports typically signal a market supply surplus. Although the year-on-year decline of 24.28% for the month—and the cumulative 26% decline for the first quarter—suggests an overall contraction in supply compared to the same period last year (thereby offering some market support), the prominent month-on-month increase is expected to dominate market sentiment, resulting in a generally bearish impact.

According to customs data, my country’s EVA exports in March 2026 totaled 34,700 tons—a month-on-month increase of 10.86% and a year-on-year increase of 30.45%. For the first quarter of 2026, cumulative exports reached 109,400 tons, representing a cumulative year-on-year increase of 66.01%.

The 10.86% month-on-month growth in EVA exports in March 2026—coupled with a 30.45% year-on-year increase for the month and a 66.01% cumulative year-on-year increase—points to robust international demand. This is expected to have a positive impact on EVA spot prices, driving them upward, as rising exports reflect a tightening balance between supply and demand.
