In February 2026, the import volume of bleached coniferous pulp decreased by 30.9% month on month and 27.3% year-on-year, with a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 7.0% for the whole year, indicating a significant reduction in supply, which is favorable for the spot price of wood pulp. The reduction in supply may push up prices. In terms of futures, pulp futures contracts such as 2605 (closing price 5,072 RMB/ton, settlement price 5,104 RMB/ton, up and down -44) and 2607 (closing price 5,126 RMB/ton, settlement price 5,150 RMB/ton, up and down -38) have shown a downward trend in recent times, but news of a decrease in import volume may provide support, alleviate downward pressure, and overall benefit the futures market.
