Domestic Market Trends

On March 24, the benchmark price for mixed xylene, as reported by SunSirs, stood at 7,760.75 RMB/ton—an increase of 36.87% compared to the beginning of the month (5,670.00 RMB/ton).

On March 24, the mainstream quoted price range for xylene in the South China region stood at 8,450–8,600 RMB/ton, remaining unchanged from the previous trading day. On the 24th, Sinopec South China raised its ex-factory price for toluene by 200 RMB/ton, setting the new rate at 8,500 RMB/ton. Following a significant overnight decline in crude oil and aromatics futures—which created bearish pressure on the cost side—market sentiment turned cautious. Consequently, prices for both toluene and xylene retreated from the highs reached on the previous trading day, and the focal point of market negotiations shifted downward in tandem with movements across both upstream and downstream sectors. Domestic spot supply remained relatively tight, with suppliers displaying a clear reluctance to sell at lower prices; as a result, the spot market exhibited a volatile, high-level trading pattern throughout the 24th.

International Market Trends

On March 24, the Asian xylene market closed lower by $77/ton: the closing price for early-April FOB Korea stood at $1,113–1,115/ton, while the closing price for early-April CFR China was $1,125/ton.

On March 24, the international xylene market closed 17 cents per gallon higher: the FOB USG March closing price was 385.25–385.35 cents per gallon, and the FOB USG April closing price was 385.25–385.35 cents per gallon.
