SunSirs: China Agricultural Product Market Dynamics in the 8th Week of 2026

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, 2026 the 8th week (February 16-22, 2026, the same below), the "Agricultural Products Wholesale Price 200 Index" was 130.46 (with 2015 as 100), up 0.87 points from the previous week and 9.52 points higher year-on-year; the "'Vegetable Basket' Products Wholesale Price Index" was 133.46 (with 2015 as 100), up 1.03 points from the previous week and 11.28 points higher year-on-year.

1. The prices of beef and mutton rose slightly, while the prices of pork and eggs fell slightly. The average weekly wholesale price of pork was 18.22 RMB per kilogram, down 0.1% month-on-month and 15.2% year-on-year; the average weekly wholesale price of beef was 66.20 RMB per kilogram, up 0.2% month-on-month and 15.7% year-on-year; the average weekly wholesale price of mutton was 65.85 RMB per kilogram, up 1.4% month-on-month and 11.4% year-on-year; the average weekly wholesale price of white-striped chicken in the wholesale market was 17.14 RMB per kilogram, down 1.2% month-on-month and down 1.0% year-on-year. The average weekly wholesale price of eggs was 8.09 RMB per kilogram, down 1.6% month-on-month and 3.3% year-on-year.

2.The average price of vegetables rose slightly. The weekly average price of the key monitored 28 kinds of vegetables was 5.63 RMB per kilogram, up 1.4% month-on-month and 13.1% year-on-year. By variety, the prices of 22 kinds of vegetables rose and 6 kinds fell. Among them, the prices of garlic sprouts, onions and cauliflower rose month-on-month by 6.3%, 5.7% and 5.3% respectively, and the price increases of the remaining varieties were within 5%. The prices of tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini, green peppers, ginger and white radishes fell month-on-month by 3.2%, 2.7%, 2.3%, 1.5%, 0.9% and 0.6% respectively.

3. The prices of aquatic products rose and fell. The weekly average wholesale prices of common carp, grass carp, silver carp, and bighead carp were 15.00 RMB, 18.21 RMB, 10.40 RMB, and 17.50 RMB per kilogram respectively, up 3.0%, 2.8%, 0.8%, and 0.4% month-on-month. The weekly average wholesale prices of large hairtail, large yellow croaker, and crucian carp were 43.12 RMB, 44.89 RMB, and 19.53 RMB per kilogram respectively, down 2.0%, 1.8%, and 1.4% month-on-month.

4. The average price of fruits rose slightly. The weekly average price of 6 key monitored fruits was 8.15 RMB per kilogram, up 2.4% month-on-month and 9.0% year-on-year. By variety, the weekly average wholesale prices of pineapples, duck pears, Fuji apples, bananas, watermelons, and Kyoho grapes increased by 4.2%, 3.0%, 2.9%, 2.9%, 1.7%, and 1.0% respectively month-on-month.
