In Henan province, the ex-factory price of sodium bicarbonate was weak, ranging from 1,080-1,200 RMB/ton, while in Shandong province it was 1,150-1,250 RMB/ton. As downstream buyers were mostly purchasing on an as-needed basis, the market is expected to remain range-bound in the near future.

Raw Materials: According to SunSirs' monitoring data, the price of soda ash remained stable last week. The average market price of light soda ash from the beginning to the end of the month was around 1,182 RMB/ton, a decrease of 21.09% compared to the same period last year.

Market outlook

The price of sodium bicarbonate has been consolidating recently. Upstream raw material soda ash remained stable last week. Downstream sectors such as pharmaceuticals, textiles, and food were purchasing mainly on an as-needed basis, with demand generally weak. Given the supply-demand dynamics, the price of sodium bicarbonate is expected to fluctuate in the near future, depending on downstream market demand.
