SunSirs: The Supply of Concentrated Nitric Acid Increased While Prices Declined, and the Cost of Liquid Ammonia Adjusted Downward
February 13 2026 10:10:51     SunSirs (John)
On February 12, the production of concentrated nitric acid remained stable, and the market supply was ample. On the cost side, the price of upstream liquid ammonia continued to decline recently, and the mainstream negotiated average price of 98% concentrated nitric acid was between 1,450-1,550 RMB/ton, a decrease of 50 RMB/ton.
Evaluation and Analysis
Stable production of concentrated nitric acid and ample market supply have led to a 50 RMB/ton drop in the mainstream negotiated price of 98% concentrated nitric acid to the 1,450-1,550 RMB/ton range. Meanwhile, upstream liquid ammonia prices continued to decline, weakening cost support and further pressuring spot prices. Increased supply coupled with declining costs suggests that prices will continue to be under pressure in the short term, with significant negative factors at play.
As an upstream raw material for nitric acid, liquid ammonia prices have recently seen a continuous decline, reflecting either oversupply or weak demand, putting downward pressure on spot prices. Weak costs may be transmitted downstream, exacerbating bearish sentiment in the market, generally negatively impacting the spot market and putting pressure on spot prices. Increased supply coupled with declining costs is expected to keep prices under pressure in the short term, with significant negative factors at play.
