SunSirs: The Market Price of Phosphoric Acid Increased Slightly (February 1-6)

According to SunSirs' commodity price analysis system, the average reference price of phosphoric acid in China was 6,900 RMB/ton on February 6th, compared to 6,890 RMB/ton on February 1st.  This represents a 0.15% increase in the price of phosphoric acid in China this month.

Market analysis

Market Overview

Domestic phosphoric acid prices rose slightly this month. The price increase of raw material phosphorus yellow provided increased cost support. The phosphoric acid market remained balanced in terms of supply and demand, with stable trading activity. As of February 6th, the ex-factory price of 85% industrial phosphoric acid in Hubei province was approximately 6,800-7,000 RMB/ton, in Sichuan province approximately 6,750-7,000 RMB/ton, and in Yunnan province approximately 6,700-7,000 RMB/ton.

Raw material prices

Raw material phosphorus yellow market trends: The phosphorus yellow market saw a slight increase this month. The market was temporarily experiencing a supply and demand balance. Manufacturers were maintaining firm prices with no pressure to sell. Downstream buyers were replenishing their stocks as needed before the holidays, mostly seeking lower prices, leading to an increase in new orders for phosphorus yellow.

Market outlook

According to analysts at SunSirs, the phosphoric acid market has recently shown a stable upward trend. The price of raw material phosphorus yellow remained firm, providing support to the cost side. Demand for phosphoric acid for pre-holiday stocking was still present. It is expected that the domestic phosphoric acid market will mainly operate within a consolidation and stronger trend in the short term.
