SunSirs: China's Power Battery Installation Volume in 2025: Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Installations Show Year-on-Year Growth

In December 2025, China's power battery installation volume reached 98.1 GWh, marking a 4.9% month-on-month increase and a 35.1% year-on-year rise. Among these, ternary batteries accounted for 18.2 GWh (18.6% of total installations), rising 0.2% month-on-month and 40.5% year-on-year. Lithium iron phosphate batteries reached 79.8 GWh (81.3% of total installations), increasing 5.9% month-on-month and 33.7% year-on-year.
From January to December, cumulative domestic power battery installations reached 769.7 GWh, marking a cumulative year-on-year increase of 40.4%. Among these, ternary batteries reached a cumulative installed capacity of 144.1 GWh, accounting for 18.7% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative year-on-year increase of 3.7%. Lithium iron phosphate batteries reached a cumulative installed capacity of 625.3 GWh, accounting for 81.2% of the total installed capacity, with a cumulative year-on-year increase of 52.9%.
