StoneX stated that Brazil's first-crop corn production for the 2025/26 season is expected to be 26 million tons, a 0.5% decrease from the December forecast, mainly reflecting a downward revision in production in Santa Catarina state.
The company currently expects Santa Catarina's corn production to be 2.27 million tons, a 5.6% decrease from the earlier forecast due to irregular weather conditions in the region.
StoneX projects Brazil's second-crop corn production for 2025/26 at 105.8 million tons, unchanged from the previous forecast but down 5.2% from the previous year. Including the third-crop production, Brazil's total corn production for 2025/26 is expected to reach 134.3 million tons, largely unchanged from the previous estimate.
Due to the slight downward revision in production and unchanged demand, ending corn stocks have been slightly lowered.
The company forecasts corn exports for the 2025/26 season (February to January) at 41 million tons, which will reduce beginning stocks for the following year.
