SunSirs: Analysis of LDPE Import Growth in China in November 2025
December 30 2025 14:54:38     SunSirs (Selena)
In November 2025, domestic LDPE imports amounted to 284,100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.21% and a month on month increase of 14.82%.
The import volume was 284,100 tons, an increase of 7.21% year-on-year and 14.82% month on month, indicating a significant increase in supply, which may exert downward pressure on spot prices. Combined with the recent rise in the main polyethylene futures contract (such as 2605) but high trading volume, the increase in imports may suppress futures gains, resulting in an overall bearish trend.
As a polyethylene related commodity, the increase in LDPE imports reflects an overall abundant supply, which may indirectly drag down HDPE spot prices. Polyethylene futures data (such as contract 2605 rising 79%) shows a strong market, but supply pressure may have a slight negative impact.
LLDPE and LDPE belong to the same category of polyethylene, and an increase in imports implies supply side expansion, which may have a negative impact on spot prices. Polyethylene futures (such as contract 2605 with high holdings) have shown positive performance recently, but changes in supply and demand may trigger slight downside risks.
